PERFECTING YOUR ITEM’S DESCRIPTION!
Your description is where people look to find out the details of your product. This is where you "sell" your product. I see descriptions that are one sentence long and have no "hype." Hype is important to buyers because it shows you know your product. Hyping your auction can be done in several different ways or you may want to combine a few strategies.
One way to have an effective description is to use detail. Detail gives the potential buyer a visual image of the product. Visual imagery is the most important part of your description. If the buyer can see in his/her mind what they are bidding on then the are more inclined to bid.
Detail alone in not enough to keep your customers interests. You have to combine detail with descriptive words. Descriptive words capture your customer’s emotions and hold them hostage until you are ready to let them bid. Words such as IMMACULATE, GENUINE, GORGEOUS, AWESOME Etc… are all effective. When using these words you should use all capital letters and be sure not to repeat the same word more than one time.
Scans. If scans are available then utilize them every chance you have. To a customer, seeing is believing. If they can see what the are bidding on then the chances of them doing so are greatly increased. I like to see what I am buying and I am sure that you do as well. Scans provide an actual picture to go along with their visual imagery. There is no doubt that scans of the product will increase the number of bids you receive.
HTML is almost necessary for grabbing the attention of your potential customer. HTML can be used to emphasize words, direct the customer in a certain direction or make your entire description stand out. HTML should be used when you want to make something remembered. HTML paired with words such as IMMACULATE becomes a very effective way to sell your product................
